Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 14, 2026
This privacy policy applies to all Knightley properties, including getknightley.com (the "Site") and the Knightley app (currently at knightley.vercel.app, with planned migration to app.getknightley.com and/or knightley.app; collectively the "App"). It describes what information we collect, how we use it, your rights, and how to contact us.
Section 1. Information we collect
We collect two categories of information depending on which Knightley property you're using.
Site data (getknightley.com):
- Your email address, if you join the waitlist via the signup form
- Aggregated site usage data via a web analytics service (currently Vercel Analytics), used to understand how visitors use the site. No personal identifiers or cycle data are sent to this service.
App data (knightley.vercel.app, app.getknightley.com, knightley.app):
- Account data: your email address (and your Google account email if you sign in with Google)
- Profile data from onboarding: your first name (optional), your partner's first initial, her birthday (month and day only; we do not collect birth year), your anniversary (month and day only), your zip code, the length of your relationship, your relationship goals, things she enjoys, and your brand preferences
- Cycle data: your partner's last period start date and her typical cycle length
- Partner phone number, if you choose to provide it during onboarding. This is collected for an upcoming optional SMS check-in feature; it is currently not used to contact anyone.
- Feedback data: your ratings and optional comments on daily prompts
Section 2. About your partner
Knightley minimizes the identification of your partner by design. We ask only for her first initial, never her full name. Birthday and anniversary fields capture month and day only, not year. We do not collect a full date of birth, social media handles, full address, or other strong identifiers about her. Her phone number, when provided, is stored for the upcoming SMS check-in feature but is not currently used to contact anyone.
You should only provide information about your partner that you are comfortable providing.
Section 3. How we handle cycle and health data
We take the sensitivity of menstrual cycle data seriously. The following commitments apply to all cycle-related information:
- Cycle data is used solely to time the daily prompts we deliver to you.
- We never sell cycle data, partner data, or any data from Knightley.
- We never share cycle data with advertisers, ad networks, or marketing platforms.
- We never send cycle data, period dates, or any derived health information to third-party analytics or tracking services.
- Cycle data is stored with row-level security; only you can access your own data.
Section 4. Third-party services
Knightley uses outside services to operate. We've selected each based on their security practices and data handling commitments:
- A cloud database provider, for storing your account, profile, and cycle data with row-level security.
- A hosting provider, for serving the website and application.
- A web analytics service (currently Vercel Analytics), for understanding how visitors use the site. No personal data or cycle data is sent to this service.
- An OAuth provider, currently Google, if you choose to sign in with Google. We receive your Google account email for authentication purposes only. Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google's privacy policy.
- An AI service, currently Anthropic's Claude, for personalizing your daily prompts. We send the prompt text, the cycle phase, and your partner's first initial. We do NOT send your name, email, or any other identifying information to this service.
- An SMS service provider, for an upcoming optional check-in feature. This service is not currently in use.
None of these services receive cycle data, period dates, or any health-related information beyond what's described above. We do not use any advertising or marketing technology. If we add any new categories of services, we will update this policy.
Section 5. Data retention and deletion
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: it removes your authentication record, profile, cycle data, daily prompts, feedback, and all associated rows.
If you need help with deletion outside the app, email us at hello@getknightley.com.
Section 6. Security and breach notification
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level access controls, and strong authentication to protect your data.
In the event of a security breach affecting your personal or cycle data, we will notify you within 60 days at the email address on your account, consistent with the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule. Notice will include the nature of the breach, the categories of data affected, and steps you can take to protect yourself.
Section 7. Contact us
